Building and Grounds Committee

The Building and Grounds Committee oversees the material needs of the parish buildings and grounds. Please consider offering your services if you are a handy person and enjoy seeing the facilities in good shape.

Community Involvment

The Saint Bernard’s parish family sponsors programs extending our reach into the Greater Hartford community—and beyond.  Programs include making and delivering sandwiches to the House of Bread the first and third Tuesday each month; supporting a weekly collection of non perishables to Foodshare; and redeeming bottles and cans for social action programs including providing cleft palate surgery in third world countries.

Digital Communications Committee

Our digital committee is dedicated to providing tools to bring the faith to parishoners of all ages through their channel of choice whether it social networks, email, web or traditional media.  We are always looking for parishoners to help, particularly those with creative, marketing, social media and IT skills.

Finance Council

The Finance Council studies, evaluates, prepare reports, and makes recommendations to the pastor in regulation of the Code of Canon Law and by the norms issued by the Archbishop of Hartford. The Finance Council is a separate body from the Parish Council and its members are appointed by the pastor.

Ladies Guild

Guided by faith, prayer, knowlege and concern, the Ladies Guild builds community through friendship, spiritual reflection, mutual support to each other and those in need.

Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee combines many people giving of their time and talents for the purpose of enhancing the parishioners' experience in the worship of our Lord. We have sub-committees for Altar Servers, Banner, Eucharistic Minister, Flower, Music, Lectors and Ushers.

Loving Life Committee

The Loving Life committee organizes events and/or drives to help Birthright, Hospice and other area organizations that promote the value and sanctity of life from natural conception to natural death.

Music Ministry

Join together in song, under the talented direction of our choir director.

Parish Council

St. Bernard's Parish Council, in an advisory capacity to the pastor, promotes social action and community involvement, preserves its property, and administers the financial matters of the parish. The Executive Board consists of the elected officers, committee chairpersons and the pastor. The Parish Council meets five times a year, normally on the first Sunday evening in January, March, May, September and November. Parishioners are welcome to attend to share their thoughts and concerns.

PRAISE began in 1994 through the inspiration and spirit of the Steubenville High School Conference, giving high schoolers the opportunity to participate in the music ministry at regular Sunday Mass on the third Sunday from September to June.

Prayer Shawl

Our prayer shawl ministry unconditionally provides blessed shawls knitted with care, prayer and love to those in need of comfort, healing, strength and God's presence in their lives.
