A Message of Joy and Sadness from Father Jay

Father Jay Embarks On a New Chapter of His Storied Life

Dear Parishioners,

I write this letter with mixed feelings - joyful and sadness. I have submitted my retirement letter to the Archbishop. My present assignment is up in June 2015 and I have requested retirement. There are many reasons: the primary reason is that I no longer have the stamina to manage all the many tasks that the parish requires. A new boss is needed at the helm. I write you with a heart overflowing with gratitude to all of you. These past 4 (almost 5) years have enriched my priesthood in so many ways. There are not the words to describe all the happy days I have spent here baptizing your children, marrying your sons and daughters, visiting and burying your loved ones who have passed. The experience of providing for your spiritual needs fills my heart with gratitude. Not many men are given the many gifts I have given. God has been good to me. Now it is time to move on. I have no immediate plans but I know it will include continuing to care for God's people wherever I am sent. I will always be "Father Jay". To anyone I may have offended in any way, I apologize. To those I have helped or inspired, I give glory to God. Please keep me in your prayers as I embark on this new chapter of my life. God Bless you.

In Christ, Fr. Jay
